Talk Faith and Take the P4:8 Challenge!
How difficult it is to talk faith when you feel discouragement. Or to walk in the light when all you see is darkness. To sing praises when our hearts are hurting.
It seems in the darkest, most confusing moments of life there is no harder task than to let our light shine. But. This is just what God calls us to do. Not only for His glory, but also for our good.
He is the maker and creator of the human heart, and as the “designer,” He alone knows what makes it work best; He alone knows that praise and thanksgiving are the keys to its health.
He commands us: Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7)
If today, your heart is low, challenge yourself to place every burden, fear, discouragement or doubt into the hands of the creator of your heart. Trust in Him so fully that you can lay your burdens down in His hands. Give your situation over to Him in prayer, all the while recounting your blessings and thanking Him for the good that He has done for you.
There will never be a time in the Christian’s life where we are without something to praise God for. Never. Even in our most seemingly hopeless moments...there is always something we can look to as a blessing. And in doing so, the very mechanics of our minds are transformed, and the very muscles of our hearts are mended!
And if we took this a step further and kept our minds focused daily, in good times and bad times, on the things that God directs us to dwell on, our hopeless moments would lesson; our discouragement would cease; and our doubts and fears would stay at bay.
God is calling us to take the P4:8 challenge today. In Philippians chapter 4 verse 8, the apostle Paul challenges us to think on the things that are pure, lovely and true. If we would purpose to take our minds off of the sad and depressing things of this world—the news reels that relay endless wrongs and maddening injustices—the gossip that circulates and the unholy and unbecoming discussions that so easily pull us in; we would see an amazing parting of the clouds. We would see the true, the pure, the lovely and the just. We could begin to fill our minds with the things the Apostle directed us to, and our minds and hearts would begin immediately to mend! That’s how the creator designed us.
Take the P4:8 challenge today and experience the peace that God long’s to give you!
“Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. Those things, which ye have both learned, and received, and heard, and seen in me, do: and the God of peace shall be with you.” (Philippians 4:8-9)
